A holiday in our history

In the 15th century it was a village immersed in the peace and quiet of the Siena hills, not far from Monteriggioni castle and close to the city of Siena. Then it became a romantic village in the Tuscan countryside. Borgo Gallinaio is testament to a rich history, clearly seen by its buildings. Just past the walls that protect the old village, you will find yourself in the courtyard, over which many of our rooms overlook. Simply by entering any room or suite you will see the charm, colors and style of authentic Tuscany.

Already in existence in 1400, Borgo Gallinaio was a village immersed in the peaceful Sienese hills, not far from Monteriggioni Castle and close to the city of Siena. Built in the 15th century, Borgo Gallinaio is a medieval building situated in the countryside of Monteriggioni, in the heart of Siena, not far from important historical and the cultural cities of Florence, Siena, Pisa and Arezzo. It is set among typical Tuscan countryside of oak, cypress and olive trees over 40 hectares (almost 100 acres). Our complex consists of 16 rooms of various sizes, exquisitely furnished in a rustic style with exposed beams and terracotta floors. The borgo, entirely made of stone, wraps around a large courtyard where in summer you can have breakfast or sample wines and other products of our land.

The hotel has an elegant and timeless charm. You can completely relax surrounded by beautiful gardens full of oak and fruit trees. From the olive trees we make tasty extra virgin olive oil which you will sample in our restaurant. Here you will find a sophisticated place where nothing is left to chance, but at the same time it has a cozy and homely feel.
